Sophisticated Spain Part 2 - Rioja and others
On the second installment of our Spanish tastings we are looking wines from some of the more famous regions of Northern and Western areas.
In terms of white wines Albarino is the main grape variety at the moment, it's popularity has surged in the UK over recent years due to its refreshing mineral character, but we'll also looks at examples from the popular Rueda region.
For the red wines Tempranillo is the main grape variety but it comes in many guises and can also be blended with other grape varieties: some are fresh and fruity, some are complex and ageworthy. We'll look at examples from Rioja and Ribera del Duero, as well as reds from other areas.
We'll taste at least six wines across the evening, with nibbles to match, tasting notes, ISO glasses and expert tutor.
