Portugal is a region that is very much up and coming at the moment. If you haven't tried and Portuguese wines recently, it's definitely time you had a go!
As a wine producing country it is more famous for it's sweet, red, fortified wines that became hugely popular in the UK a few centuries ago. And while we will be tasting some of these, now is the time that the unfortified wines are beginning to shine!
Portugal is blessed with a consistent climate, and numerous native grape varieties that give a unique character to the wines produced. They may not be easy to say, but they are certainly easy to drink! We'll be trying some Alvarinho, Loureiro, Touriga Nacional and Castelao among others!
On the evening we will have at least six wines to try, including a selection of white wines, red wines and port wines. You will also have a tasting sheet, nibbles, use of ISO wine tasting glasses and professional tutor.
