Sherry and Tapas Tasting
Sherry is one of the most underrated drinks in the world - and we're here to show you why!
Sherry is a fortified wine made in Jerez in the south of Spain. What makes sherry unique is it's aging process: all Sherry is aged in cask and blended using a method known as the Solera System. This ensures that young and old wines are blended together to encourage freshness and complexity in every style. The syle of Sherry is determined by the presence of oxygen or yeast during the aging process: Fino sherry aged in contact with yeast cells known as flor is pale, dry delicate; Oloroso is aged in contact with air and is dark brown, full bodied, rich and nutty. And there are other styles which combine both of these methods.
The longer you age a sherry the more complex it becomes, so the best sherries are often aged indicated as VOS (20 years old) or VORS (30 years old), and these are some of the most concentrated and intense wines you can find!
The 2 hour tasting will include 6 different types of Sherry including a selection of the following:
