4 Week Wine Course: Emerging Wine Regions
Looking for something new and interesting when it comes to wine? Then this is the course for you!
We all know that there are certain regions across Europe and the Southern Hemisphere that have reputations for creating outstanding wines, and with good reason! But that is not all there is in terms of wines around the world. On this 4 week course we're going to take a look at the wine roads less travelled. Wines from regions you may not have tried, wines from places you may not even know make wine!
By the end of the course you will:
• Have tasted a variety of wines from unusual places
• Have an understanding of why these wines are now becoming popular
• Know how to tell a good quality wine
• Have tasted 24 wines! And become a tasting pro!
• Know how to match these interesting wines with different foods
Fri 5th Oct: Week 1 - English Wines. You may have heard, of even tried some of our sparklings (which are now on a par with Champagne), but did you know about the variety of red, white, rose and even sweet wines available? Well now is your chance to find out
Fri 12th Oct: Week 2 – Eastern Europe. We are all familiar with reputations of countries like France, Spain and Italy when it comes to wine, but what about those a little further afield? This week we will try some Eastern European delights from countries such as Croatia, Romania and Greece. You may not have heard of the wines, or even be able to pronounce the grape varieties, but there are wines here that you definitely need to try!
Fri 19th Oct: Week 3 – Southern Mediterrenean. As we wind our way further from traditional wine regions, there are still some fantastc wines to discover from countries that you may not even know make wine! This week will feature wines from Lebanon, Morroco, Turkey and Israel.
Fri 26th Oct: Week 4 – Asia. Now these are wines not really seen in the UK that much, so you may be surprised that you can get wines from Asia. Not only do they exist but they are also good! Unique wines that show the character and terroir of where they are grown. Think Japan, China, Thailand and India. This is one not to miss!
Comprehensive tasting sheets, course notes and use of professional ISO wine tasting glasses are included.
This course is available to buy as a gift for the wine lover in your life.
